More Powerful Prevention

Condoms are the only MPTs that are currently commercially available, and while they are an effective prevention tool for many women, challenges with partner negotiation and undesirable changes in sensations during sex can be barriers to their consistent use. Women need more options to address their comprehensive sexual and reproductive health needs. The MPT field builds on decades of research and lessons learned in the family planning, HIV prevention, and other STI prevention fields to create a suite of MPT product options that meet the diverse needs and desires of women and girls worldwide.
